SANAA, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthi group said they attacked Israel with two drones on Monday, targeting military sites.
"The first attack targeted a military target of the Israeli enemy in the occupied Ashkelon area. The other hit a military target of the Israeli enemy in the occupied Jaffa area," Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said in a statement.
"These operations will not stop until the Israeli aggression on Gaza is stopped and the siege is lifted," he added.
There has been no comments yet from the Israeli side.
Since November 2023, the Houthis have been carrying out rocket and drone attacks on Israeli cities and disrupting "Israeli-linked" shipping in the Red Sea to show solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza amid the Israel-Hamas conflict there.
In response, the U.S.-led navy coalition stationed in the area has been conducting regular air raids on Houthi targets since January in a bid to deter the armed group.
The Houthi group has been controlling much of northern Yemen since late 2014, forcing the internationally recognized Yemeni government out of the capital Sanaa. Enditem
