ANKARA, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- More than 25,000 Syrians have voluntarily returned home from Türkiye in the last 15 days, marking a seven-times increase compared to regular returns in the past years, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said Tuesday.
The Turkish government has simplified processes for Syrian returnees, allowing them to bring personal belongings like household items and vehicles, and has introduced new measures for them, allowing one member of each Syrian family to cross the border to and from Syria three times in January-July 2025, Yerlikaya told the semi-official Anadolu Agency.
The government has also collaborated with civil society organizations to facilitate the returnees, Yerlikaya said, adding that the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority has sent food supplies to Syria over the past 15-20 days. Enditem
