ADEN, Yemen -- Yemen's pro-government forces announced Tuesday that eight Houthi fighters were killed and 15 others wounded during intense clashes sparked in the country's southwestern province of Taiz.
In a brief press statement, the pro-government forces said the Houthis launched a "failed assault" in "an attempt to breach fortified military sites" controlled by the government in the northwestern part of Taiz during the past hours. (Yemen-Houthis-Conflict)

GAZA -- At least seven Palestinians, including two Civil Defense members, were killed in Israeli bombings on Gaza City, Spokesman for Civil Defense in Gaza Mahmoud Basal told Xinhua Tuesday.
The Israeli jets attacked the headquarters of the Civil Defense in east Gaza City, killing four, including a man and his son both working for the organization and injuring several others, Basal said. (Gaza-Israel-Conflict)

ISTANBUL -- The death toll from the munitions factory explosion in Balikesir province, northwestern Türkiye, has been revised to 11, with seven others injured, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Tuesday.
"The work (at the production facility) began at 8:00 a.m. local time (0500 GMT) in an area of 700 square meters, and the explosion occurred at 8:27 a.m.. The cause is still unknown," Yerlikaya told reporters. (Türkiye-Factory-Explosion)

BEIRUT -- The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants on Monday filed a complaint through the country's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York with the UN Security Council (UNSC) in response to Israel's repeated violations of its ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.
The Lebanese ministry said on social media platform X that between Nov. 27 and Dec. 22, Israel launched over 816 land and air attacks against Lebanon, shelling border villages, booby-trapping homes, destroying residential neighborhoods, and blocking roads. (Lebanon-Israel-Complaint) Enditem
