SANAA, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- The U.S.-British navy coalition launched a fresh airstrike on the Houthi-held Yemeni capital of Sanaa on Friday night, targeting the 1st Armor Division in the city, Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported.
The 1st Armor Division is a military site under Houthi control.
The airstrike shook the whole city. Ambulances were heard rushing to the targeted site.
The Houthi group has yet to disclose any information regarding its casualties or losses.
The U.S.-led navy coalition has also not commented on the incident.
The fresh airstrike came one day after Israel launched waves of airstrikes on multiple Houthi targets in Yemen, including an airport, two power stations, and several ports. The Israeli offensive, the fourth one in the year, killed at least 6 people and injured 40 others, according to the Houthi television.
The Houthi group, which controls much of northern Yemen, has been conducting regular rocket and drone attacks against Israel and disrupting "Israeli-linked" shipping in the Red Sea since November 2023 to show solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
In response, Israeli forces and the U.S.-led navy coalition in the area have been carrying out airstrikes on Houthi targets to deter the group. Enditem
