WASHINGTON -- U.S. homelessness in 2024 increased by 18 percent compared to 2023, driven by a national affordable housing crisis, rising inflation, and a surge in migrants, according to a report released Friday by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

SANAA -- The U.S.-British navy coalition launched a fresh airstrike on the Houthi-held Yemeni capital of Sanaa on Friday night, targeting the 1st Armor Division in the city, Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported.

BRATISLAVA -- Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said Friday that his government may stop electricity supplies to Ukraine following the anticipated end of Russian gas transit through Ukraine on Jan. 1, 2025.

BAKU/MOSCOW -- "External interference" is likely the cause of a recent Azerbaijani plane crash, said Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev, citing preliminary investigations and survivors' testimonies.

ISLAMABAD -- At least 383 security personnel and 925 terrorists were killed in 59,775 operations conducted across Pakistan in 2024, a senior officer of the Pakistan army said on Friday.
