SYDNEY, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- A house has been gutted by a major fire in Sydney's southwestern suburb, Australia's 9News network reported.
Fire crews were deployed to the suburb Austral, 37 km southwest of central Sydney, at about 4 a.m. local time on Sunday following reports of a two-story home engulfed in flames.
As of 8 a.m., the house as well as several vehicles in its front yard were continuing to burn.
Firefighters were working to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring properties and were forced to wear breathing apparatuses due to a large amount of smoke billowing from the fire.
There have been no reported injuries. Authorities said they do not believe the fire is suspicious. Enditem
