LONDON, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Liverpool continued its exceptional season and strengthened its lead at the top of the Premier League with a 5-0 win away to West Ham United on Sunday.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring on the half-hour after an attempted pass bounced back to him, allowing him to drive into the area and score from 12 meters out.

Mohammed Kudus hit the post for West Ham minutes later, but Liverpool doubled the lead through Cody Gakpo in the 40th minute after some Mohamed Salah magic in the West Ham penalty area.

Salah sealed the win with a low shot a minute before halftime and Trent Alexander-Arnold made it 4-0 with a deflected shot nine minutes into the second half, before Diogo Jota rounded off another emphatic win with six minutes left.

Nottingham Forest moved second above Arsenal and Chelsea, both of whom play on Monday, with another impressive win, as goals from Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White sealed a 2-0 win away to Everton.

Anthony Elanga nodded the ball down for Wood to open the scoring with a smart chip over goalkeeper Jordan Pickford after just 15 minutes.

Wood then turned provider on the hour with a ball from the left for Gibbs-White to cut inside and double Forest's lead. The visitors had some stern defending to do as Everton pumped a series of crosses into the penalty area, but they held on confidently and Elanga would have made it 3-0 in injury-time but for Pickford's excellent double save.

Manchester City claimed its second win in 14 matches thanks to a 2-0 triumph away to Leicester City.

Savinho scored from a rebound after Leicester City goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk could only parry Phil Foden's shot, but far from calming the nerves of Pep Guardiola's side, the goal saw Leicester come into the game.

The home side hit the post, saw a shot cleared off the line and Jamie Vardy put over the sort of chance he usually takes, before Erling Haaland's powerful header secured three points for City.

In-form Fulham and Bournemouth drew an entertaining game 2-2, with Bournemouth twice coming from behind to save a point in the last minute.

Raul Jimenez put Fulham ahead in the 40th minute, but Evanilson leveled in the 51st minute.

The Bournemouth forward should have put his side ahead in the 70th minute but missed his chance, and it looked as if it would be an expensive miss when Harry Wilson put Fulham ahead just two minutes later, before Dango Ouattara saved it at the death for the visitor.

Tottenham came back from a goal down to lead 2-1 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers, but was pegged back by a late goal from Jorgen Strand Larsen as Wolves' recovery continues under coach Vitor Pereira.

Hwang Hee-chan gave Wolves an early lead, but Rodrigo Bentancur and Brennan Johnson turned things around before halftime, with Johnson's goal coming after Son Heung-min had missed a penalty.

Strand Larsen saved a valuable point for Wolves when he cut into the penalty area and lashed a shot into the roof of the net.

Crystal Palace continues to improve after goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Eberechi Eze saw the Eagles recover from Tyler Dibling's early goal for bottom side Southampton. Enditem
