JAKARTA, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Several new warplanes are set to arrive in Indonesia next year and the following year to enhance the country's air security, said Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force Mohamad Tonny Harjono on Monday.

Tonny announced that several units of T-50 warplanes, manufactured by Korea Aerospace Industries of South Korea, are scheduled to be delivered to Indonesia next year. "I have seen these planes at the Korean Aerospace Industry, and they are good. We have already utilized these aircraft, and we will receive more from 2025 to 2026," he said at the military headquarters.

The air marshal indicated that the new planes would be stationed at various air squadrons across the country to strengthen air defense. However, he did not disclose the total value of the purchase or the number of units that will be acquired.

In addition to the T-50 warplanes, he also mentioned that several other types of warplanes, including the Rafale jet fighter manufactured by the French company Dassault Aviation, are also expected to arrive in 2026. Enditem
