HANOI, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- Three workers were found dead and two others went missing on Tuesday morning after a scaffolding collapse at a hydropower plant in Vietnam's Central Highlands province of Kon Tum, Vietnam News Agency reported.

While building a spillway of the Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant, four workers fell into a four-to-five-meter-deep hole. Another working on the ground was hit by rocks and died on the spot.

Bodies of three workers have been found. The rescue team is searching for two others.

Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant, located in Dak Glei district, is one of the largest hydropower projects under construction in the Central Highlands region with a capacity of 84 MW.

The project has a total investment of more than 3.5 trillion Vietnamese dong (137.2 million U.S. dollars). Its construction kicked off in 2009, but has not yet been completed. Enditem
