COLOMBO, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Sri Lankan police introduced the "E-Traffic" app on Wednesday, a mobile platform to report traffic violations, criminal activities and environmental damage, a police spokesperson announced on Wednesday.

Police spokesperson K.B. Manathunga said the app allows users to quickly upload photos, videos, and detailed information directly to law enforcement.

This streamlined reporting process aims to enhance public safety and improve efficiency in addressing violations, he said.

The spokesperson noted that an operation unit at the police headquarters will review the submitted photos and videos and coordinate with relevant institutions to take appropriate action.

Sri Lankan citizens can download the app from the official police website, Manathunga said. Enditem
