Bus accident kills 1, injures over 30 on Myanmar's Yangon-Mandalay highway

YANGON, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- A bus with 45 passengers aboard rolled over on Myanmar's Yangon-Mandalay highway, causing one fatality and 32 injuries, according to the highway traffic police force on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday, an official from the highway traffic police force told Xinhua.

The accident was caused by the bus driver falling asleep while driving. As a result, the bus hit a road barrier and overturned, he said.

Among the 32 injured were nine men, 21 women, and two children, all of whom were hospitalized, he added. Enditem
