KABUL, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- The construction of four new drug rehabilitation centers has been completed in Afghanistan, the local media Tolonews reported on Friday.

Nearly 1 billion afghani (about 14 million U.S. dollars) was allocated annually from the government's budget for treatment of addicts, Tolonews quoted Abdul Haq Akhund, deputy interior minister for Counter Narcotics, as saying.

He added that rehabilitation centers have been operated in all provinces of the country.

There were 66 drug rehabilitation centers in Afghanistan. Enditem
