Britain wins 4-man bobsleigh at IBSF World Cup

BERLIN, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Britain won the second 4-man bobsleigh race of the 2024-2025 IBSF World Cup in Winterberg on Sunday, while host Germany swept the podium in the 2-woman bobsleigh event.

British pilot Brad Hall, with Taylor Lawrence, Arran Gulliver and Greg Cackett as his push team, finished two heats in the 4-man bobsleigh race with a combined time of one minute and 48.07 seconds, relegating German Olympic and world champion Francesco Friedrich, along with Simon Wulff, Matthias Sommer and Felix Straub, to second place.

The third place went to Adam Ammour with Theo Hempel, Benedikt Hertel and Rupert Schenk from Germany.

China's Li Chunjian, Jiang Maoyuan, Shi Yaolong and Zhen Heng ranked 10th.

German pilot Lisa Buckwitz stood at the top of the 2-woman bobsleigh podium for the first time this season. With brake woman Kira Lipperheide, she narrowly relegated her teammates, Olympic champions Laura Nolte and Deborah Levi, to second place by 0.01 second.
