GAZA -- At least 19 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza, while an infant died due to severe cold weather on Monday, according to Palestinian sources.

Eight Palestinians, including a woman, a child, and two twin brothers, were killed and 15 others injured in Israeli air raids targeting three houses in Gaza City and Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza, told Xinhua.

Another four were killed in an Israeli bombing at a house in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, Basal said. (Gaza-Israeli bombing)

BERLIN -- A sixth victim has died from injuries sustained in the car-ramming attack at a Christmas market in Magdeburg in late December, local authorities said on Monday.

The 52-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries in hospital, according to the public prosecutor's office in Naumburg, Saxony-Anhalt, where Magdeburg is the capital.

The attack occurred on Dec. 20, when a 50-year-old man drove a car into crowds at the market. The incident has so far claimed the lives of a 9-year-old boy and five women aged between 45 and 75. At least 299 people were injured. (Germany-Magdeburg attack)

SEOUL -- South Korea's joint investigation unit said Monday that it has sought the extension of the arrest warrant for the impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol over his short-lived martial law imposition.

The investigation unit, composed of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO), the National Office of Investigation (NOI) of the Korean National Police Agency and the defense ministry's investigative headquarters, said in a notice that it requested the Seoul Western District Court to extend the arrest warrant against Yoon, which was issued by the same court on Dec. 31 last year.

SEOUL -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday fired an intermediate-range ballistic missile toward its eastern waters, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said Monday.

The South Korean military detected a projectile believed to be an intermediate-range ballistic missile that was fired toward the eastern waters from Pyongyang areas around midday local time (0300 GMT), according to the JCS. (DPRK-Missile) Enditem
