NEW DELHI -- Eight policemen and a driver were killed Monday after a vehicle they were traveling in was blown up by an improvised explosive device (IED) triggered by Naxals in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, police said.

SEOUL -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday fired an intermediate-range ballistic missile toward its eastern waters, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said Monday.

SEOUL -- The South Korean anti-corruption agency and the police on Monday reached a consensus that they will jointly execute the arrest warrant against impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol under the framework of the joint investigation unit.
The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) sent an official document late Sunday to the National Office of Investigation (NOI) of the Korean National Police Agency, requesting that the task of executing the arrest warrant be transferred to the police. TOKYO, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Japan's Nippon Steel and United States Steel have jointly filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government over President Joe Biden's decision to block the buyout of the American steelmaker by the Japanese company, local media reported Monday.
