JERUSALEM -- An Israeli deputy company commander and another soldier were killed, and two others were injured, in a clash with militants in northern Gaza, the Israeli military said on Monday.
Israel's state-owned Kan TV reported that the four soldiers were hit by an anti-tank missile fired by militants at the building where they were staying. SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi group said in a statement on Monday that it targeted the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in the northern Red Sea with two winged missiles and four drones, as well as sites in Israel.
The group "carried out a qualitative military operation... while the American enemy was preparing to launch a major air attack on Yemen," which had "failed" thanks to its operation, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said in the statement aired by the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV. GAZA -- At least 19 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza, while an infant died due to severe cold weather on Monday, according to Palestinian sources.
Eight Palestinians, including a woman, a child, and two twin brothers, were killed and 15 others injured in Israeli air raids targeting three houses in Gaza City and Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza, told Xinhua. ABU DHABI -- Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Monday met with visiting Syria's interim Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani on bilateral ties and developments in Syria.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance the "strong fraternal" bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest, reviewed the overall developments in Syria and the current regional situation, and addressed "several issues of mutual concern," the UAE Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
