KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- A survey has found that 66 percent of Malaysian electrical and electronics (E&E) companies expressed optimism about the overall outlook in 2025,
The Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association (MSIA) on Tuesday released its latest findings from the MSIA E&E/Semiconductor Quarterly Pulse Survey for the fourth quarter of 2024 that 44 percent of companies are optimistic about their performance in the first quarter of 2025, highlighting a continued positive sentiment.
While there is uncertainty in the short term, companies are more optimistic in the medium to long term, MSIA noted.
The findings also showed that companies are focusing on expanding into new markets, cost-reduction initiatives, investing in new technologies, and increasing market share to address challenges.
"The survey results reveal that 2025 will present notable challenges for the Malaysian semiconductor industry, including talent shortages, market competition, and external geopolitical pressures," said MSIA president Wong Siew Hai.
Despite the headwinds, he said the industry remains steadfast and prepared to leverage innovation, collaboration, and strategic planning to turn challenges into opportunities and maintain its competitive edge. Enditem
