JERUSALEM -- The Israeli military announced on Wednesday that three of its soldiers were killed and an officer seriously injured during a raid in the northern Gaza Strip.
Israel's state-owned Kan TV reported that the soldiers were killed when their tank ran over powerful explosive devices in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza.
The three soldiers from the Iron Trails Brigade's 46th Armored Battalion "fell during combat," said the military in a statement. (Israel-Gaza-Soldier Deaths)

DAMASCUS -- Syria's interim Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani pledged on Wednesday to restore the country's full territorial unity and ensure the return of refugees, a month after the ousting of President Bashar al-Assad's government.
"Our happiness will remain unfinished until every inch of Syrian land is reunited, and displaced people and refugees are back in their homes," al-Shibani said in a statement marking the one-month anniversary of the change in power.

JERUSALEM -- Israeli forces have recovered the body of Yussef Ziyadne, an Israeli-Bedouin hostage kidnapped by Hamas during its Oct. 7 attack, from a tunnel in Gaza's Rafah area, the military said on Wednesday.
Ziyadne, 53, was confirmed dead at Israel's National Institute of Forensic Medicine after his body was found on Tuesday. The military said he was "killed in captivity" and that evidence found during the recovery operation raised "serious concerns" about the fate of his son Hamza, who was also taken hostage. TEHRAN -- Iran's atomic chief has said the country is building two new units at a nuclear power plant in the southern province of Bushehr, according to the semi-official Mehr news agency.
