JAKARTA, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Four people died and dozens were injured when a tour bus crashed into several other vehicles in Batu City, East Java, Indonesia, on Wednesday evening.

"The accident occurred at around 7.15 p.m., as the bus lost control due to brake failure, speeding down Imam Bonjol Street, passing the Batos intersection, and coming to a stop after hitting vehicles and pedestrians," said Andi Yudha Pranata, chief of Batu Police.

The bus, carrying 43 high school students and teachers from Bali, was on its way back after an industrial visit to Central Java and East Java.

All victims have been evacuated to two nearby hospitals. Enditem
