YANGON, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- A total of 88 people were killed and 360 injured in 203 traffic accidents on Myanmar's Yangon-Mandalay highway in 2024, according to the highway traffic police force on Thursday.

This marks an increase in accidents, fatalities and injuries as compared to 2023, which recorded 163 accidents, resulting in 86 deaths and 326 injuries, an official from the highway traffic police force told Xinhua.

The traffic accidents also caused damage estimated at over 570 million kyats (about 270,000 U.S. dollars), he said. Enditem
