Myanmar exports over 2 mln tons of rice, broken rice in first 9 months of 2024-25 FY

YANGON, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar exported over 2 million tons of rice and broken rice in the first nine months of the 2024-25 fiscal year, according to the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) on Thursday.

The Southeast Asian country earned 948 million U.S. dollars from exports between April and December last year, the MRF said.

Of the total, 337,490 tons of rice and broken rice were exported in December last year, generating 145 million dollars in revenue, the federation said.

During the nine-month period, the country exported rice and broken rice via both sea and land routes to more than 30 countries, including Indonesia, China, the Philippines, the Netherlands, and Belgium, it said.

In the 2023-24 fiscal year, Myanmar exported over 1.6 million tons of rice and broken rice, earning more than 845 million dollars, according to the federation. Enditem
