ABIDJAN, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Cote d'Ivoire's President Alassane Ouattara said Thursday in Abidjan, the economic capital, that he was undecided whether to run for the presidential election scheduled to be held later this year.

"As of today, I have not yet made a decision. But I am in good health and eager to continue serving my country," he said.

When meeting the diplomatic corps that presented him with New Year's greetings, Ouattara said he had not yet decided whether to participate in the 2025 presidential election, but expressed his willingness to continue serving Cote d'Ivoire.

He stressed that "my party has at least half a dozen candidates who are in this room" while assuring that the 2025 presidential election, scheduled for Oct. 25, will be peaceful, democratic and transparent.

The Ivorian president praised the actions taken by the government to improve the living conditions of the population. "We will continue our efforts to offer Ivorians a haven of peace that brings hope and hope," he promised. Enditem
