LJUBLJANA, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Slovenia opposes forceful changes to internationally recognized borders, Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon said on Thursday following a government session.
Her comments came in response to remarks by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump regarding the Panama Canal and Greenland.
"Slovenia does not condone changes of the internationally recognized borders, whether through the use of weapons or force," Fajon said.
Trump, speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, said he would not rule out the possibility of using military force to seize control of the Panama Canal and Greenland.
Fajon described Trump's remarks as an aggressive foreign policy approach, which she said has raised significant concerns at a time when adherence to the rule of law and the UN Charter are increasingly undermined. Enditem
