KATHMANDU, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Both foreign exchange reserves and remittance inflow went up in Nepal in the first five months of the current 2024-25 fiscal year, the central bank announced on Friday.
Remittances to Nepal stood at 4.73 billion U.S. dollars by mid-December 2024, up 4.4 percent over the same period of 2023-24, the Nepal Rastra Bank said in a report.
Meanwhile, forex reserves grew by 9.7 percent to 16.76 billion dollars.
"The foreign exchange reserves are sufficient to cover merchandise imports for 17.6 months and merchandise and services imports for 14.6 months," the bank said. Enditem
