KATHMANDU, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Inflation rate in Nepal grew to a 15-month high of 6.05 percent by mid-December due to rising food prices for the last few months, the central bank said on Friday.

The prices of vegetables in particular had surged by 43.05 percent, the Nepal Rastra Bank said in a report.

A higher inflation was recorded at 7.5 percent in mid-October 2023.

Prices went up in Nepal since massive floods and landslides damaged infrastructure and crops in late September 2024.

The country's non-food and service inflation stood at 3.92 percent by mid-December 2024, noted the central bank. Enditem
