DAKAR, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- As China is a global example of development, Senegal should take China as a model and draw inspiration from it, a Senegalese official has said.

China is "the best country for Senegal to emulate," offering opportunities for cooperation, Sambou Biagui, director general of Senegal's press house, told Xinhua recently.

"The partnership promoted by China is fundamentally based on respect, which explains why China advocates for mutual and win-win cooperation," Biagui said.

Taking agriculture as the starting point, China is currently the best country it can emulate, he said, stressing the need for Senegal to cooperate with China to seize this opportunity and embark on genuine development.

Specifically, the identified areas of cooperation with China should enable Senegal to develop its textile and cotton sectors while producing and processing peanuts, oil and gas locally, Biagui added. Enditem
