MINSK, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The agreement on mutual visa recognition between Belarus and Russia came into force on Saturday, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said.

Under the agreement, foreign citizens and stateless individuals holding a visa issued by either Belarus or Russia, along with an identity document recognized by both countries, are granted the right to enter, leave, stay and transit through the countries' territories for the duration of the visa's validity.

Both sides reserve the right to deny entry or shorten the stay of any foreign citizen or stateless person on its territory, as well as to verify compliance with entry, exit, transit or stay regulations, it said.

The agreement was signed on June 19, 2020. Enditem
