MANILA, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Inflation, or the high prices of goods and services, remains a top concern for Filipinos, according to a nationwide survey by an independent polling firm released Sunday.

Pollster OCTA Research's fourth-quarter survey of 1,200 adults, conducted from Nov. 10 to 16, 2024, said that 56 percent of Filipinos expressed concern about controlling the rising prices of essential goods and services.

"This is a significant drop of 10 percentage points from the 66 percent registered during the third quarter of 2024," OCTA said.

After inflation, the survey showed that 44 percent of Filipinos are concerned about access to affordable food, improving or increasing wages or salaries (36 percent), reducing poverty (34 percent), and job creation (29 percent).

Providing free quality education, fighting graft and corruption in government, and fighting criminality were also among Filipinos' concerns, the survey added. Enditem
