ANKARA/ISTANBUL, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) captured the suspect involved in the 2013 bomb attacks in a cross-border operation in Syria, Turkish media reported on Monday.
Following intelligence efforts, the suspect, Muhammed Dib Korali, whose whereabouts had been pinpointed, was apprehended by MIT in Syria, semi-official Anadolu Agency and TRT state broadcaster quoted Turkish security sources as saying, without specifying the time frame of the operation.
The bomb attacks, which occurred in two separate incidents in the Reyhanli district of Türkiye's southern Hatay province on May 11, 2013, killed 53 people and injured many others.
The MIT identified Korali as the individual responsible for procuring the bombs used in the explosions, said the reports, adding the suspect has been handed over to the Hatay Provincial Police Department. Enditem
