NEW DELHI, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- India's retail inflation eased to a four-month low of 5.22 percent in December 2024, the latest government data showed Monday.
According to the data released by the federal ministry of statistics and program implementation (MoSPI), the inflation based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) in December 2024 is 5.22 percent. In November the CPI was 5.48 percent.
The food inflation also declined to 8.39 percent in December 2024 from 9.04 percent in November 2024, the data showed.
According to officials, the price data are collected from selected 1,114 urban markets and 1,181 villages covering all states through personal visits by field staff of field operations division of the National Statistical Office under the MoSPI on a weekly roster. Enditem
