YANGON, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Myanmar will provide 42,000 kyats (about 20 U.S. dollars) per month to each child with disabilities aged two to 18 across the country, the state-run Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Tuesday.

The funds are intended to cover essential needs, including nutrition, health care, personal hygiene, assistive devices and technologies, accessibility improvements, rehabilitation, and education, the report said, citing UNICEF Myanmar.

The fund will be available for up to three children with disabilities per household currently living together, it added.

Only children with severe or profound disabilities are eligible for the cash assistance, the report said. Enditem
