ANKARA, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Turkish police have seized 11.225 million drug pills and more than 1.2 ton additives in a major operation in Istanbul, Türkiye's largest city, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said Tuesday.

In the operation coded "Narkokapan-7," the police detained 11 suspected drug manufacturers, Yerlikaya said on social media X, not specifying the time of the operation.

The police also confiscated 364 kg empty capsules and six drug pill production machines, along with 73 aluminum blister rolls, he said.

Yerlikaya said such operations aim to safeguard the future of Türkiye's youth.

"Every operation we conduct and every substance we seize is a step towards protecting our future. Keeping our youth away from drugs is a shared responsibility," he said. Enditem
