TURIN, Italy, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's Bohdan Borkovskyi won the first gold medal of the 32nd Winter Universiade in the men's 15km short individual of biathlon here on Tuesday.
Borkovskyi finished the race in 38 minutes and 40.9 seconds, ahead of Patrik Kuuttinen of Finland, who was 25.5 seconds behind, and Patr Hak of the Czech Republic finished third, timing 39:10.1.
Seven gold medals are at stake in the opening-day competition of the Torino 2025 in the field of biathlon, curling, snowboarding and freestyle skiing.
