DOHA -- Qatar's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Majed Al Ansari confirmed on Tuesday that the ongoing high-level Gaza ceasefire talks in Doha have reached an advanced stage.

"I can confirm that the talks are happening at a high level here in Doha as we speak. We believe we are at a developed stage, possibly even the final stage. However, until there is an official announcement, we should temper our excitement. Nonetheless, we remain hopeful," the spokesperson said at a weekly media briefing. (Qatar-Gaza Ceasefire-Talks)

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi group said in a statement on Tuesday that it targeted a power plant in the southern Israeli port city of Eilat, using a "winged missile."

BEIRUT -- Lebanon's newly appointed Prime Minister Nawaf Salam vowed on Tuesday to start a new chapter in the country, local TV channel Al Jadeed reported.

"The time has come to start a new chapter rooted in justice, security, progress, and opportunities so that Lebanon becomes a country of freedom and equal citizenship," Salam said in his first remarks as prime minister at Baabda Palace in capital Beirut. (Lebanon-New PM-Pledges)

ISTANBUL -- Eleven people have died in hospitals in Istanbul, Türkiye's largest city, in the past 24 hours after consuming counterfeit alcohol, and two suspects have been detained, local media reported on Tuesday.

According to the state-run Anadolu news agency, 38 individuals, including 26 foreign nationals, sought medical treatment at various hospitals across the city due to health issues related to counterfeit alcohol consumption.
