SAO TOME, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The new government of Sao Tome and Principe, led by Prime Minister Americo Ramos, was sworn in on Tuesday.
In his speech, Ramos pledged to restore public trust in the nation and strengthen cohesion among state institutions.
President Carlos Vila Nova issued a presidential decree on Sunday, appointing Ramos as the new prime minister. Ramos previously served as the governor of the country's central bank.
The new government came after the president dissolved the government of Patrice Trovoada on Jan. 6. Ilza Amado Vaz was initially appointed as prime minister on Thursday but stepped down three days later. Enditem
