TUNIS, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia has welcomed 10.25 million foreign tourists in 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic figures, local radio station Mosaique FM reported on Wednesday.
According to Tourism Minister Sofiane Tekaya, the latest figure exceeds the 9.5 million visitors recorded in 2019.
The minister credited the sector's recovery to collaborative efforts and the country's diverse array of year-round offerings.
In comparison, approximately 9.37 million tourists visited Tunisia in 2023, slightly lower than the 2019 levels, according to the tourism ministry.
Tunisia's tourism industry, severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, has shown substantial signs of recovery in recent years. Enditem
