SYDNEY, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Two men were killed in a stabbing attack on Thursday night in Australia's state of Victoria, local police said.
Victorian police said in a statement on Friday that emergency services were called to an altercation in Clyde North, 46 km southeast of central Melbourne, the capital city of Victoria, shortly after 9:30 p.m. local time on Thursday.
On arrival, police found two men with wounds consistent with a stabbing. Medical treatment was provided, but both passed away at the scene.
Detectives from the homicide squad said that a search is underway for a third man believed to have fled the scene before police arrived.
It is believed the people involved were known to each other, police said.
Police have established a crime scene and are speaking with other people who were present at the property at the time of the attack to determine what happened. Enditem
