CAIRO, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Delegations from Egypt, Qatar, the United States, and Israel met in Cairo to establish mechanisms for implementing the recently reached Hamas-Israel ceasefire deal, Egypt's Al-Qahera News TV channel reported on Friday.

The mechanisms will cover the reopening of the Rafah crossing for dispatching the wounded Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip and the delivery of humanitarian aid, the report said.

It added that an Israeli security delegation is also visiting Egypt to coordinate the implementation of the exchange of hostages, especially on the first day of the ceasefire that will take place on Sunday.

Also, a European Union Monitoring Mission delegation is expected to arrive in Cairo early next week to help implement the terms of the ceasefire agreement, said the report.

The long-awaited truce agreement between Hamas and Israel was reached in Doha on Wednesday, according to Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. Enditem
