JAKARTA, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government plans to cease fuel oil imports within the next five years, President Prabowo Subianto announced on Monday.
"I believe that soon we will no longer import fuel. I am confident that within five years, we will stop importing fuel," said Prabowo.
To eradicate poverty and improve public welfare, Indonesia must focus on converting natural resources into finished goods and industrial products, Prabowo noted.
Additionally, the country aims for food self-sufficiency, which is expected to be achieved by 2027. Enditem
