CAIRO, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Egypt sent at least 260 trucks of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip via the Rafah crossing on Tuesday, the third day of a truce between Israel and Hamas, Egypt's state news agency MENA reported.

The convoy included 23 trucks carrying fuel, MENA said.

A total of 680 aid trucks have crossed into Gaza from Egypt since the start of the ceasefire, brokered by Egypt, Qatar and the United States. This included 330 trucks (20 with fuel) on Sunday and 350 (14 with fuel) on Monday, according to MENA.

The Rafah crossing is a vital entry point for aid destined for Gaza from Egypt, other countries, and international organizations. Israel has controlled the Palestinian side of the crossing since May 2024 and reopened under the terms of the ceasefire. Enditem
