ANKARA -- The death toll from the devastating fire at Türkiye's Kartalkaya ski resort in northwestern Bolu province has risen to 76, and nine people have been detained in connection with the incident, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Tuesday.

JERUSALEM -- Four people were injured late Tuesday in a stabbing attack in central Tel Aviv. The attacker, identified as a Moroccan-born U.S. permanent resident, was shot and "neutralized."

ADEN, Yemen -- A total of 20 Ethiopian migrants, including nine women and 11 men, were killed when their boat capsized off the southern Yemeni coast over the weekend, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported on Tuesday.
The vessel, carrying 35 Ethiopian migrants along with a Yemeni captain and his assistant, reportedly departed from the Hammarta area in Djibouti and capsized on Saturday night "amid strong seasonal winds" near Al-Hajjajah in Dubab District, Taiz Governorate, the IOM said in a statement, adding that the survivors have successfully reached the shore. JERUSALEM -- Israeli military chief Herzi Halevi resigned on Tuesday, citing the Israel Defense Forces' (IDF) failure to prevent Hamas's Oct. 7, 2023, attacks that triggered the Gaza war.
Halevi, 57, is the most senior official to step down over the security lapse, which saw thousands of Hamas-led militants and Gaza civilians breach the border fence in a coordinated land, air, and sea assault, overrunning military bases and communities in southern Israel.
