WARSAW, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- A mining accident, including a methane ignition, injured at least 10 people in Poland's southern Silesian province on Wednesday, reported local media.
The incident occurred below 850 meters underground in the Knurow-Szczyglowice mine, according to local media RMF24. A spokeswoman for the State Mining Authority announced that a rescue operation is underway.
She added that the injured miners are being transported to the surface for medical treatment. Enditem
