MADRID, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Spanish La Liga club Real Valladolid has criticized teenage defender Abdulai Juma Bah and English side Manchester City for what it considers to be unethical behavior to force a move to the Premier League club.

Juma Bah joined Valladolid on loan from Sierra Leone based club, Freetonians, last summer, with a view to playing in the club's B-team, but he quickly progressed to the first team and has made 12 appearances in La Liga.

However, Manchester City has now moved in to sign the tall defender by paying his release clause, much to Valladolid's annoyance.

In a statement, Valladolid explains the "Royal Spanish Football Federation has just confirmed that the player has deposited the amount for the unilateral termination of the contract," and they will "resort to the appropriate legal and sporting jurisdictions to exercise its rights and defend its interests."

"Abdulai Juma Bah and his agent informed Real Valladolid yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon of their intention to unilaterally break the contract that binds both parties. Previously, yesterday afternoon, Manchester City sent a statement asking Real Valladolid to open negotiations for the player for a possible permanent transfer. Today, the Sierra Leonean has decided not to show up at his workplace for morning training," informed the Spanish club.

Valladolid has no doubts where the responsibility for Juma Bah's decision is with "Manchester City," who it believes "seems to have advised the player to take this route."

"The player's intention, supposedly supported and guided by Manchester City and his agent, has caused great disappointment and indignation within Real Valladolid, who welcomed Juma Bah with open arms and gave him the opportunity of a lifetime," informed the Spanish outfit. Enditem
