TOKYO, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- One man died after a fatal knife attack near Japan's JR Nagano Station at around 8 p.m. local time on Wednesday, local media reported.
Three people, including two men and one woman, were attacked by a suspect wielding a knife-like weapon near the Zenkoji Exit bus rotary of JR Nagano Station, the national broadcaster NHK reported.
According to police, the man in his 40s was transported to a hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead after 10 p.m. local time. The other man in his 30s sustained severe injuries but remained conscious.
The woman had her clothes slashed, and she fell during the attack and suffered minor injuries.
The perpetrator fled the scene on foot and police were investigating the incident as a suspected random attack. Enditem
