NEW DELHI, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Two Naxals were killed and two policemen wounded in a fierce gunfight between them in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand on Wednesday, police said.
The gunfight broke out in the forest area of Penk Narayanpur in Bokaro district.
Police said the gunfight broke out after joint contingents of police and paramilitary forces cordoned off an area on specific intelligence information suggesting the presence of six Naxals.
The incident came a day after 16 Naxals were killed in a similar gunfight in adjacent Chhattisgarh's Gariaband district.
Currently, Naxals were active across central and eastern parts of India. Enditem
