HOUSTON -- A student was killed while another two injured during a high school shooting Wednesday morning in Nashville, the capital city of southern U.S. state of Tennessee, the Metro Nashville Police Department said.

The shooter, a 17-year-old student armed with a pistol, opened fire in the cafeteria of the Antioch High School around 11 a.m. local time and then fatally shot himself, the police said at a news conference. (US-Shooting)

RABAT -- Moroccan police have seized nearly 10 tonnes of cannabis resin in the western coastal Marrakech-Safi region, the official MAP news agency reported on Wednesday.

The operation took place on Tuesday in the rural commune of Kouzemt-Imintanoute, located in the central part of the Marrakech-Safi region, following intelligence provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), Morocco's domestic intelligence service. TUNIS -- The number of undocumented migrants crossing from Tunisia to Europe has fallen sharply to 19,245 in 2024 from 97,667 in 2023, Tunisian private radio station Mosaique FM reported on Wednesday, citing a senior security official.

"This remarkable decrease highlights the effectiveness of the measures taken to address immigration challenges and strengthen border security," the radio quoted Khaled Jrad, Central Director of the General Inspection of the National Guard and head of the Committee for Illegal Immigration, as saying.
