Tunisian president meets Mauritanian minister on ties

TUNIS, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian President Kais Saied met with visiting Mauritanian Minister of Economy and Finance Sid Ahmed Ould Aboh on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations, according to a statement from the Tunisian presidency.

During the meeting, the Tunisian president expressed his country's appreciation for the long-standing relationship with Mauritania and emphasized its commitment to further strengthening the ties, which reflect the enduring bonds of brotherhood between the two nations.

Underscoring challenges facing Africa amidst global uncertainties, Saied called for a collective effort to enable the continent to reclaim its "rightful place" on the world stage.

Saied called on African nations to leverage their immense human and natural resources to address economic and social challenges more effectively.

At a press conference following his meeting with the Tunisian president, the Mauritanian minister spoke highly of the cooperation between the two countries and called for strengthening their strategic partnership to elevate bilateral relations to new heights. Enditem
