DAMASCUS -- A car bomb exploded Thursday in the city of Manbij in Aleppo province in northern Syria, killing three people and wounding five others, a war monitor reported.

The car bomb went off near the Zidan Hanizal School in Manbij, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Syria-Car-Explosion)

LOS ANGELES -- The most recent wildfire, the Laguna Fire, was reported in Ventura County in U.S. California on Thursday morning and due to the threat, California State University Channel Islands has ordered the immediate evacuation of its campus.

According to the Ventura County Star newspaper, the fire was ignited at approximately 8:35 a.m. local time near the community of Camarillo and on the hills west of the university campus. (U.S.-Wildfire)

LONDON -- A British teenager was sentenced on Thursday to a minimum of 52 years in prison for the murder of three young girls in a knife attack at a dance class in Southport last July.

ADDIS ABABA -- At least 25 people were killed and 29 others injured in a road accident in northern Ethiopia on Thursday, local authorities confirmed.

The accident occurred when a transport bus lost control and overturned in the Dawunt District of the Amhara Region, eventually leaving 25 people dead, the North Wello Zone communication office said in a statement. (Ethiopia-Bus-Accident) Enditem
