ISLAMABAD, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Four terrorists were killed and two others injured in an operation by security forces in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday, the military said in a statement.

The operation was conducted in Khyber district of the province, based on an intelligence tip-off regarding the presence of terrorists in the area, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military's media wing, said in the statement.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area, targeting both security forces and civilians, the statement added.

A sanitization operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area, the ISPR noted. Enditem
