PHNOM PENH, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Tuesday that Cambodia's economy is forecast to grow by 5.8 percent in 2025, up from 5.5 percent in 2024, boosted by strong growth in garment and agricultural exports, and improving tourism activity.

The Southeast Asian country's economy mainly depends on garment, footwear and travel goods exports, construction and real estate, tourism and agriculture.

"Real GDP growth is driven mainly by external demand, with a strong rebound in garment exports and high growth in agricultural exports," the lender said in a press release.

"Tourism has experienced a structural shift in its composition, resulting in a lagged recovery in tourism receipts," the press release added. Enditem
